Reception to celebrate Rabbi David Rosen's CBE

David RosenRabbi David Rosen added the letters CBE to the Papal Knighthood he was awarded in 2005 (see photo) for his contribution to interfaith relations in the Middle East and between Israel and the UK.

Rabbi Rosen is a true Jewish internationalist: UK-born, a resident of Israel, an employee of the American Jewish Committee, and the former Chief Rabbi of both South Africa and Ireland successively. He has made an exceptional contribution to Christian-Jewish dialogue, leading delegations representing World Jewry in dialogue with both the Vatican and the Anglican Communion.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews and Sir Sigmund and Lady Hazel Sternberg, also both Papal Knights in their own right, joined forces to celebrate this momentous achievement at a reception at 6 Bloomsbury Square on Monday 24th May. National and international leaders of Christian-Jewish relations, including Chief Rabbis and Bishops, added their praise of Rabbi Rosen’s activism, wisdom and vision in building friendship and cooperation between Christians and Jews around the World.
