Loyola 2013 mailings
Before the course please reflect on the tasks involved in the job and where you want help. These issues will be addressed on the first evening of the course in denominational meetings – ecumenically appointed Officers will meet as a separate group.
We want you to stay for the whole course, but if you plan to miss a meal, tell Lorraine Shannon so that she can alert the house.
Mailings for this course
The following documents will be posted in January 2013. You can click on the active links now.
- Extracts from what is popularly known as 'the Marigold book', setting out the proposals for the current ecumenical instruments. While some of it is dated, it is important background for our work together.
The following documents will be e-mailed to all tutors and participants before the course. (Click on the bold type if you wish to download anything.)
- A programme for the course.
- Travel directions and information about Loyola.
- A list of participants to facilitate car-sharing. This is in the form of a very wide Excel sheet and you will need to scroll right to see the 'car' column. (NB data protection responsibilities prohibit us from permitting this to be downloaded.) Blank lines indicate that the person concerned has not given permission for their data to be shared.
- A special requirements checklist. Please do look at this and notify us of any further needs you may not have thought of mentioning on your booking form.
- A job description for a County Ecumenical Officer – also helpful for Denominational Officers so that they know what to expect from CEOs. DEO job descriptions have been posted to you and can be found here.
- A very helpful and readable reflection of a CEO's first year. This is a brilliant description of how the job works at its best and is relevant to all course participants, not just CEOs.
- Visiting Ecumenical Situations, a sheet of questions to consider when going on an ecumenical visit.
