Christians come together at local level in a variety of ways, impossible to count! Often, when local congregations commit to ongoing relationship and work together, they form a Churches Together group, whether or not they use that terminology.
Sometimes congregations choose to make an informal covenant commitment to each other or informally share a church building. Formal expressions of mutual commitment involve the wider Church (Diocese, District, Synod, Baptist Association etc) and are called Local Ecumenical Partnerships.
In places where there is only one church building, for example, in a village, the challenge is to involve all who wish to worship locally without asking them to relinquish their denominational identity.
As well as these long-standing expressions of Christian unity, there are many emerging New Networks and many resources for Christians and churches working together locally.
