CTE and Evangelisation

A key role of CTE is reflected in the Swanwick Declaration:

'Our call is to witness that God is in Christ, reconciling the world to himself. It is our conviction that, as a matter of policy at all levels and in all places, our churches must now move fro co-operation to clear commitment to each other ... in common evangelism and service to the world'.

The general task of evangelism, ie sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, is carried out in many aspects of CTE work, but is focussed in the particular contribution of the Churches Co-ordinating Group for Evangelisation. This group (GfE for short) seeks to serve the wider church in the task we are all called to, 'that the world might believe'.

The specific work of GfE is found under 'Networks' and 'Co-ordinating Groups' and in the GfE website at www.gfe.org.uk.

GfE seeks to work with all of the other areas CTE covers, as we all seek to 'share the good news of Jesus Christ'.

GfE offers a news headline service to which anyone can subscribe. Short items of news and a web link can be sent direct to your computer for free. You only receive the latest national evangelism news item and no other emails from anyone else. EvangelismUK is available on http://www.evangelismuk.typepad.com
