The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Religious Education was set up in November 2012 and is chaired by Eastbourne and Willingdon MP, Stephen Lloyd. In November 2012 it announced its inquiry to investigate the supply of and support for teachers of RE.

Sarah Lane Cawte is a staff member for both the Free Churches Group and Churches Together in England. Sarah commends this report from the All party Parliemantary Group which has had coverage in the national press, saying: 'We support the work of the APPG and hope that the findings in this report will be taken seriously. The APPG is supported by the RE Council. Both CTE and FCEC are members, so this is part of our wider work'.
